Interpretation of DH Lawrence quote

Task: Inteperte the qoute written by DH Lawerence

"I never saw a wild thing feel sorry for itslef. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itslef."
- DH Lawrence
I think this quote means that only humans feel sorry for themselves. Animals living in the wild seem strong because they don't feel sorry for themselves if something bad happens to them while humans fell sorry for themselves when something happens to them.

A wild animal does not feel pity for its situation. Unlike humans an animal in the wild has the overwhelming sense of survival above all other things. If a human can overcome the sense of self pity and draw on the inner strength it takes to survive they can overcome any hardship. Never feel sorry for your situation, figure a way out of it and survive the situation you are in above all else. INNER STRENGTH AND THE WILL TO LIVE WILL CONQUER ALL.
